The ANU School of Demography in association with the United Nations Population Division invite you to the Australian launch of the UN 2022 revision of the World Population Prospects. The launch is being held as a public and freely accessible hybrid online and in-person event.

The 2022 World Population Prospects, to be released on World Population Day, 11 July 2022 (New York time), will contain official UN population estimates and projections for more than 230 countries and areas.

The Australian launch will feature an online introduction from the UN Population Division, along with a series of eminent speakers to explain the past and future of WPP and population data – why they are important and why we should care, what we can expect from the 2022 WPP, as well as national and global population prospects in the medium and long-term future.

The 2022 revision is the 27th edition of the World Population Prospects, which have been prepared since 1951 by the Population Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
